Message Details

Each message has at least one tab at the bottom of the screen. It depends on the type of message as to the tabs available:

  • Message - Displays the message information for messages including Out of Hours Reports and In Patient Reports.
  • Pathology or Results for a Pathology message.
  • Summary for GP2GP.
  • Header - Displays general details about the message, including:
    • A description
    • The type of message
    • The date and time created
    • A unique message reference number
    • The organisation that sent the message
    • Who the message is intended for
    • The name of the patient and their demographic details

    The Header is hidden by default, see Message Tab for details on displaying it.

  • Audit - See Audit tab for details.
  • Actions - See Completing an Action from the Message Actions tab for details.

For Pathology messages in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you can copy text from a message for pasting into other applications, such as Word documents. This is particularly useful when creating clinical correspondence. See Copying Pathology Message Text (England, Wales, Northern Ireland only) for details.
